Structural engineering is at the heart of what we do. At Ambrose, we develop structural engineering solutions in a collaborative process with experienced professionals utilizing real-world knowledge and state-of-the-art software.

Our structural engineering services include:

BIM and Construction Documents

Collaborative approach to producing integrated construction documents to guide projects from start to finish. Building information modeling (BIM) is utilized in nearly 100 percent of our projects.

Design Analysis and Evaluation

Engineering design and calculations using specialized software capable of evaluating loading and performance requirements or behavior of structures and constructed systems.

Structural Restoration

Development of structural engineering design criteria and specifications, and development of plans and details for restoration and/or repairs for existing structures.

Peer Review

Research, review and assess information on existing or proposed structures by others to determine compliance with applicable codes.

Construction Phase Services

On-site visits coordinated with the architect and/or contractors to coincide with major construction benchmarks, allowing us to observe and advise on construction activity.

Component Engineering

Development of structural engineering solutions including design and production of shop drawings for multiple types of component materials, such as: Cold formed steel, Carbon-fiber reinforcing, Tilt-up concrete design and lifting, Glued laminated wood members, Steel connections, Steel stairs and railings.

Structural Building Assessments

Provide a range of critical assessment reports and give guidance or inspect work to ensure that projects are in compliance with applicable codes. These include:

Structure Condition Assessments. Observe, collect or coordinate tests as necessary to assess information on existing structures to determine the cause, type and extent of defect to a structure’s components and/or systems.

Code Compliance Assessments. Research, collect and assess information on existing or proposed building design or work performed to determine or establish compliance with applicable codes.

Specialty Structural Engineering

Development of structural engineering solutions for multiple types of specialty structures, including: Free-standing signs, Shelving, Pre-fabricated mezzanines, Fabric structures, Greenhouses.
